About the Author

I am an author and I was born in Athens (Greece). I studied for seventeen years Archaeology and History in Greece and in Italy. I have a PhD in Medieval History from the University of Athens (2006) and I speak English, French and Italian. I was awarded a number of scholarships for the completion of my studies in both Greece and abroad. I have published numerous academic articles, I participated in international conferences, and I was awarded twice by the Greek Parliament for my research conducted on Eleftherios Venizelos (1928-1932). I have worked for the National Research Institute as well as the Ministry of Culture. Over the last few years I have written articles for magazines related to history studies, and I have translated historical works. As a novelist I have written many books (sales over 100.000 copies) in Greek and in English (novels, short stories, etc). Here you will find my complete work. I hope you like it. Enjoy the visit ! ...................... ...................... Ο ΘΑΝΟΣ ΚΟΝΔΥΛΗΣ γεννήθηκε στην Αθήνα. Σπούδασε αρχαιολογία και μεσαιωνική ιστορία στην Ελλάδα και στην Ιταλία. Έλαβε αρκετές υποτροφίες για την ολοκλήρωση των σπουδών του (Ίδρυμα Κρατικών Υποτροφιών, Erasmus, Lascaris Foundation). Γνωρίζει αγγλικά, γαλλικά και ιταλικά. Το 2000 έλαβε το μεταπτυχιακό του τίτλο από τη Φιλοσοφική Σχολή της Αθήνας στον τομέα της μεσαιωνικής Ιστορίας, ενώ το 2006 αναγορεύτηκε Διδάκτωρ Ιστορίας από το ίδιο Πανεπιστήμιο. Η διδακτορική του διατριβή έχει τίτλο «Το Ναύπλιο (1389-1540). Μια ευρωπαϊκή πόλη στην ελληνο-βενετική Ανατολή». Επιπλέον έχει επιστημονικά ασχοληθεί με το βενετικό Ναύπλιο και την Αργολίδα γενικότερα για περισσότερο από μια δεκαετία διεξάγοντας έρευνες στα μεσαιωνικά αρχεία της Ελλάδας και της Ιταλίας γενικότερα. Πέραν τούτων έχει να επιδείξει εκτενές επιστημονικό έργο (πάνω από δεκαπέντε μελέτες και άρθρα) ενώ ειδικά το έργο του για τον Ελευθέριο Βενιζέλο έχει μέχρι σήμερα δυο φορές (1996, 2002) τιμηθεί και από τη Βουλή τον Ελλήνων με ανάλογα βραβεία. Επίσης έχει λάβει μέρος σε αρκετά επιστημονικά συνέδρια, έχει ασχοληθεί με μεταφράσεις αλλά και με τη λογοτεχνία με σχεδόν είκοσι βιβλία κάθε είδους και μορφής. Μάλιστα έχει βραβευτεί σε λογοτεχνικούς διαγωνισμούς ενώ το μυθιστόρημά του υπό τον τίτλο «ΕΚΓΛΗΜΑ ΣΤΗΝ ΑΡΧΑΙΑ ΟΛΥΜΠΙΑ» έχει ήδη εκδοθεί και στην Ιταλία (ed. NORD, 2009)
