Chapter One
We all know the White House at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. It's home to the President and his family.
The White House was built in 1792. All of the presidents, except George Washington, have enjoyed living in this house of few.
The White House is many a stately places. The big White House entertains from all races.
I have been to the White House. It sits so majestic for all to see. There is, though, another white house that sits as majestic as can be. You ask, "What house would that be?"
This white house is special to me. It was built in 1863. No presidents have stayed here. No famous people have slept here, just my family and me.
My grandparents bought this white house in 1933. There are no fancy pictures on the walls, just pictures of my family and me.
The Presidential White House has 132 rooms to see. My special white house has only 10 rooms, which is enough for me. There's one special room in this white house that's important to me. My mother was born in that room you see.
A grand staircase at the White House was built for all to view. The banister of wrought iron and wood with carpet a reddish hue. Many important people walk the staircase through.
The grand staircase, at the other white house, is a wooden humble one, but oh, what fun! My sister, cousins, and I slide down and down and go round and round.
