Overview

The Organizing Idea is the individual's manual for thriving in the current mass psychosis, and a weapon against the post-totalitarian system. Simpson asserts that we live in a world that not only assumes, but attempts to enforce the idea that there is nothing other than 'this', which leads to societal dysfunction, rejection of personal responsibility, and a specific form of totalitarianism. He examines contradiction at both the societal and individual level to trace the current mass psychosis to its primary enabler. In doing so, he exposes the contradictory values, actions, and beliefs inherent in our systems, institutions, and norms.

"There is a sort of schizophrenia in our world today where "anything is possible" but at the same time "nothing matters" because all of 'this' came from nowhere, is not going anywhere, exists for no reason, and we know this beyond a shadow of a doubt..."

This book takes the reader on a journey through "A sea of contradictions", explicates how we all came to be so contradictory, and challenges the most sacred philosophical and scientific axioms that we have. The journey includes a history of 'this' and 'other than this' and reflects on historical moments of thriving when these two ideas were in balance, and societal collapse when they were not. Ultimately, this book is a phenomenological account of Projection and a theory about how all of 'this' works. This book is not for the faint of heart, as Simpson's approach is extremely combative and brutally insightful. However, for those who can endure it, this is a journey that will not soon be forgotten. It empowers the individual with a life philosophy that simply cannot be shut down.

About the Author

Dr. Jason R. Simpson began his writing career as an Information Systems Ph.D. student, where he quickly picked up the ability to argue various philosophical and psychological points positioned in the highest level intellectual conversations. During that time, he was most noted for challenging widely held theoretical axioms - something that continues in his writing to this day. Dr. Simpson has won various international awards for his academic writing. However, after feeling stagnant and trapped by the academic system, he decided to separate from it and embark on a journey which would contain the (often numinous) substance that, combined with his previous research, ultimately led him to become a writer. Dr. Simpson's first work, "The Organizing Idea", which examines various socio-psychological phenomena by focusing on widely held views of 'this' and 'other than this', lays the philosophical groundwork on which the rest of his work will follow for years to come.
