Does a person not know his identity? It is exciting and romantic. Perhaps I am not American, as many people are not. Perhaps I belong to the lineage of the ancient Romans, or perhaps I am a descendant of the Vikings, or perhaps the daughter of a Russian exiled in Siberian prisons, or perhaps I am a gypsy, and I believe I am.
