About the Author

Andy Miah is Professor of Ethics and Emerging Technologies at the University of the West of Scotland. He is a regular participant at the National Olympic Academy in Britain and has lectured on the Olympics in over 15 countries, conducting research and giving guest lectures in the past 5 Olympic hosting cities. Along with co-editor, Beatriz Garcia, he co-founded the serial Culture at the Olympics, and has written for a host of international newspapers and magazines.

Beatriz Garcia is Lecturer in the school of Sociology and Social Policy at the University of Liverpool. She has conducted research into a number of Olympic games, publishing widely on the subject, and is currently a member of the Culture and Education Advisory Committee of the London Organising Committee for the 2012 Olympic Games. Along with co-editor, Andy Miah, she co-founded the serial Culture at the Olympics.
