The 9th child of 13 Children, the author was born the daughter of a Pastor/Antiques Dealer and Telephone Company worker/Homemaker in Motor City - Detroit, Michigan. She was raised in Lansing, Michigan right near Michigan State University. Having gone to New York City to attend New York University, she remained and built a successful career.
