Overview

The world's true history is not in any book. Earth was a better place before the elves were driven out of it and the memory of them faded from men's minds. On his deathbed, Richard Round's grandfather gives him their message: "You must go to the elves, Richard. Everything depends upon it." Richard doesn't want to believe the old man-- until a demon attacks Richard and his friend Zenman deep in the New Hampshire woods.
To make things worse, turns out Richard's stepfather is a Materialist Magician who serves the demons. Can Richard and Zenman find their way to the elves in the next world over before the bad guys turn this world into hell? Seems that in Tibet, the MMs are using technology and black magic to help the Fallen Archangel known as the Claimant enter a blasphemous incarnation through a human mother. What can Richard do about that when MMs in his own government are trying to kill him? After Vietnam, all Richard wanted was a normal life. But a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do, right? Even if that means becoming an elf.

("The Next World Over" is Book 1 of the Nextworld Trilogy, which continuea in Book 2, "The Next World Under" and concludes in Book 3, "The Next World Out".)
