The New Normal

The coronavirus has changed our world forever. It will probably never go back to what it was pre-pandemic. But perhaps we needed something like a pandemic to step back and smell the roses, so to speak. Perhaps we needed the time to breathe deeply and just slow down. Possibly, we needed to see all the beauty around us and within us. Or, we needed to see how precious and valuable our family and close relatives are. Finally, we needed to stop the noise and just be.

But now as we are moving past the worse of the pandemic, we realize that we were part of something that’s bigger than we ever experienced before. However, despite this, if you are reading this book and you haven’t had Covid, or if you had it and survived, I hope you will feel grateful and hopeful. It is important to be Covid free. And if we are, we are really reaping some benefits of self-isolation and mask wearing.

There’s no doubt that the virus has changed our world and transformed how we live. It upended our sense of normality. However, it’s important to also remember that it hasn’t overhauled who we essentially are. You are still the same unique person who you were pre-pandemic. You can still choose to be whatever you want to be. You can continue to slow down and take some time for yourself. You can turn inward and make time for your hobbies. You can choose to be kind to your family, close relatives, and friends. And you can choose to be resilient. In other words, you have the power within yourself to be your best self. No virus or pandemic will ever take that away from you unless you let it. So, take a deep breath and enjoy who you are and how resilient you have become.
