Faith had her dreams. She dreamed of being on stage in the theatre, receiving accolades as a great actress. But she also dreamed of a strong handsome man who would sweep her off her feet. But when her parents die unexpectedly, both her and her brother are forced to California in the middle of the Gold Rush. Once there, Faith gets the attention of many men but one man in particular draws her eye. He is a reporter in the budding newspaper business and breaks a news story on some of the strange deaths going on in the town.
