Second in size and second in population in the world, Africa is also the second largest. There are 1.1 billion people residing on the continent, spread across 54 different countries. In addition to the Red Sea, Mediterranean Sea, Indian Ocean, and Sinai Peninsula, Africa is surrounded by the Suez Canal. Arid, tropical, and subarctic climates can be found in Africa. In addition to the Big Five, wild cats, and reptiles, amphibians and aquatic life inhabit the continent. Among the many forests and lush vegetations that can be found in Africa are evergreen forests and lush vegetation. Throughout the world, most tourists consider this continent one of their top travel and tourist destinations. The African culture, communities, and natural surroundings are some of the continent's most popular sites for tourists to visit. Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Cairo are some of Africa's most visited cities.
