Overview

The most dangerous game is a tense story pitting man against man and the hunted against the hunter. Sanger Rainsford falls from a yacht on route to Rio de Janeiro to hunt jaguars. He manages to swim to a nearby island, but there the hunter becomes the hunted.

About the Author

Richard Connell (1893-1949) was an American author and journalist who is considered one of the most popular short-story writers of his time. His works appeared in The Saturday Evening Post and Collier's magazine.

Edoardo Ballerini is an Italian-American narrator, actor, and writer who is best known for his role in The Sopranos. He has appeared in over forty films and television series and received numerous AudioFile Earphones Awards for his narration.

Ziggurat Productions employs multiple voices to tell this haunting classic short story about a hunter becoming the hunted. Accomplished big-game hunter Sanger Rainsford is washed ashore on a South American island owned by General Zaroff, a maniacal sportsman whose quarry is the two-legged kind. When Rainsford finds himself the prey of the madman, he must kill or be killed. The readings are quite good, and the story is enhanced by appropriately menacing music.
