Sampson is a New York Time's bestselling author of twenty-six books for children and eight professional books for teachers on the writing process, and 50 articles published in professional journals. He wrote with Bill Martin for twenty-five years; the two created Chicka Chicka 1, 2, 3 together, as well as The Bill Martin Jr Big Book of Poetry.
