Overview

Reuben's poems are an unflinching and powerful exploration of the social and emotional effects of having a disability and growing up dealing with the mental and emotional ramifications. These collection of poems are an expression of knowing what it feels like to be different and be defined by your disability in a judgemental world while dealing with the pressures of being a teenager.

Through these six poems, Reuben breaks all the rules by deconstructing what it means to be black, disabled and bisexual. With raw sincerity and bravery, Reuben bravely paves his own way with these intimate anthology of poems.

Reuben (aka Acertory) is a writer from South London who has been writing poems, raps and stories for three years. Over time, Acertory has improved and varied his style as they have gotten older and wiser. If you were to ask Acertory what their main influences are, it would mainly be hip hop related as that is what Acertory grew up listening to. Some of his favourite rappers include Eminem, Dave and Kendrick Lamar. Acertory also enjoys going out with friends and playing video games in his spare time.
