Nine-year-old Robin is unaware that she is, biologically, an elf. She has lost her parents under mysterious circumstances. She goes to live with her inventor uncle. There she finds herself the hunted quarry of a madman. Her uncle takes her to a secret place in Tyrol, where a colony of extraterrestrials help her to learn the truth about herself and the loss of her parents.

The story mentions religion, but does NOT advocate any particular religion. The child, who was raised in a religious environment becomes the focus of an alien religion.

The story contains a person named Mr. Lucifer. His alignment is good, and he has nothing whatever to do with the biblical Lucifer. the coincidence of his surname is fully explained at the end of the book.
