The Metamorphosis of the Subject in Foucault and Castaneda: The Way to experience the Spirit
The title, as well as the hero of the book, concerns the reader himself / herself as witness to his / her own life, who is called on, through implementing the same techniques of self-awareness and self-control taught in it—recapitulation, the monitor of conscience, testimony, the monitor of behaviour, meditation, writing, reading, reflection on death, careful listening, silence—, to reach knowledge itself and the same or even deeper conclusions.

This book wants to push the reader into the little room of his or her self, where, with sincere introspection and by consciously breathing in the images of life's experiences, he or she will manage to acquire, as a prize, the understanding that is necessary to align himself with the world, which is always the second interlocutor, for the benefit of both parties: himself and the world.

Becoming happy or sad requires the same amount of energy. What changes is the direction. The world is primarily energy, and then an object and, only if we view it as such, will we manage to take part in its perennial transformations, flowing with it and changing, while we remain the same, for it is us alone that ring these changes.
