About the Author

Jeffrey M. Fishman is a student of history who knows how injustices can occur and how, for good to prevail, sometimes evil must be confronted without restraint. In writing this novel, his inspiration was Zvi Zamir, who, while just a teenager, joined the Palmach resistance movement in what was to become Israel. As the elite fighters of the the Haganah, it was formed to combat the incessant Arab attacks on Jews. The Palmach allied with the British against the Nazis, but later, fought the British to achieve Israeli independence and statehood. After the Palmach was merged into the Israeli Defense Forces, Zamir quickly rose to the rank of Major General. In 1968, he became Director of Mossad, and when the Palestinian terrorists, Black September, attacked and murdered Israeli athletes competing at the Munich Olympics, Zamir and Prime Minister, Golda Meir, launched Operation Wrath of God. The mission to assassinate the terrorists involved, despite its violation of Israeli policy and accepted international rules of engagement, was designed to awaken the world that Israel will have retribution against those who attack them. There would be a price to pay for killing Jews.Like Zamir, the author refuses to accept the destruction of Israel as inevitable and believes that unorthodox and creative actions must be taken to prevent it. His protagonist, Jake Zimmer, is willing to do anything to find the elusive peace. The author is a lawyer who understands what is ethical and what isn't, what behavior is legal and what is moral. The author hopes Director Zamir finds the premise of this novel compatible with his views and hopes you, the reader, will find this story to be a good read and thought-provoking.
