Overview

From author and storyteller Lord Jay P. Newcomb comes a story in the tradition of Treasure Island and the Three Musketeers. A story of the plots and schemes of unscrupulous royal officials in the court of King Louis XIV. Young Guy-Picard, the Marquis de Rochambeau and his trusted companion Cyrano de Bergerac, with d'Artagnan and the Musketeers have been sent with a fleet of warships in the year 1646 to establish a base on St Domingue and destroy the Pirates of the Caribbean, raiders who have been plundering at will on the high seas. Yet is also a story of love and redemption as Guy's beloved Marie de Fontaine transcends a life of vanity and hatefulness, to a woman who can truly love the man who has loved her since childhood. Return to the era of opulent royal courts, to the age of the great sailing vessels and the adventure of a lifetime as you sail to glory with the Marquis de Rochambeau.

About the Author

Lord Jay Patrick Newcomb Esq is an accomplished author of many books, including works of high fantasy such as the books in the Visigothic Saga. He writes alliterative poetry and enjoys a good pipe, fine wines and strong ale. His favourite authors are J.R.R. Tolkien, Victor Hugo, Alexandre Dumas, Edmond Rostand, Charles Dicken and William Shakespeare. He listens to classical music, his favorites being Wagner, Handel, Beethoven and Mozart. He enjoys the opera, in particular the Ring Cycle of Richard Wagner. He is a man seeming out of place in the world of the 21st Century, looking back with nostalgia upon the world of the Middle Ages and the renaissance, and the Europe of the 17th Century. With his writing he wishes to bring his vision of those times to his readers. He is not a fan of modern fashions but prefers the styles of the Victorian era and its wholesome modesty.
