Overview

THE MAN OF THE FOREST...IS A REALLY GOOD WESTERN NOVEL! 340 PAGES IN PRINT! ONE OF GREY'S LESSER KNOWN NOVELS....BUT A GREAT READ!

Milt Dale, a lone camper, overhears a conversation that persuades him to leave his forest paradise to save a young woman from certain doom. After narrowly escaping a kidnapping plot, Milt leads Helen and her kid sister deep into the perceived safety of the forest. The kidnappers are still on their trail to complete their mission but The Man of the Forest isn't about to let anyone kill Helen and take possession of her uncle's ranch.

One of the lesser know westerns from Grey but still (as T.K.Whipple praised) 'a battle of passions with one another and with the will, a struggle of love and hate, or remorse and revenge, of blood, lust, honor, friendship, anger, grief—all of a grand scale and all incalculable and mysterious', and above all, a praise of the land and nature.
