After a life-or-death struggle with a vicious monster, Jennifer awakens in a hospital. She quickly learns this is no ordinary hospital. A kindly nurse with purple streaked hair introduces herself as Tyrian. She informs Jennifer what she has killed was a Lycan. Tyrian goes on to explain that not only was she awarded the Lycan bloodline, but that it was also necessary to save her life. She receives a new hyphenated name, Jennifer Murphy-Timbers. A reputation and a moniker soon follow, Dire Slayer.
After first dismissing it as nonsense, Jennifer struggles with the healing process. Jennifer learns there are things she can do now that she couldn't before. It dons on her; Tyrian was telling the truth.

About the Author

I was born in California, the son of a US Marine. As an adult, I became a 3rd generation military member. I grew up in a small town in Texas. Kemp was never much more than a blinking red light on a not-so-busy highway. It was a one-horse town by the very definition.
Mr. Reed, my high school English teacher also taught college English. He informed us toward the end of our senior year, that he had only made one syllabus. Unbeknownst to us, we were sharing the same syllabus with his college class. Wherever the world has taken you Mr. Reed, well played and thank you.
I developed a love for the theater. I worked in community theater. I played Riff Raff in the stage production of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
As an avid horror fan, I volunteered at a charity haunted house. Through my deep love of theater, horror movies and the genetic curse of insomnia my beloved Lycans were born. They were birthed in a spiral notebook, old school pen and paper. It didn't take long for them to take on a life of their own. It often feels like these fictional characters, of my creation, dictate a large portion of my life now.
I have been coast-to-coast. I have gazed out at the Pacific and the Atlantic. I have played the part of nomadic traveler. Through it all, I settled down in small town Oklahoma, about three hours from where I grew up. I live with my two boys, who are quickly growing into strong young men.
Here is my one wish for us all that may we always find our way home.
