About the Author

Nacovin J. Norman, Ed.S., is an accomplished educator, author, and leader with a passion for advocating for equity, inclusion, and multicultural understanding in public education. With over a decade of experience in the education sector, Norman has served in numerous leadership roles, including as the President of the Camden City Federation of School Psychologists (AFT), where he successfully led historic negotiations that resulted in record pay increases for educators. As the owner and operator of Puzzles Education Services, he has employed and mentored over 50 educators, providing critical educational services to school districts and families throughout New Jersey.

Norman’s work is deeply rooted in his belief in the transformative power of leadership, particularly the importance of representation for marginalized communities. His groundbreaking thesis, Multiculturalism and the Media: Using Racially Motivated Films to Increase Attitudes About Race, explores how media influences racial attitudes, and his first book, Final Exodus: Book 1, showcases his ability to weave narratives that challenge societal norms while empowering readers. Norman’s other works, such as The Lost Leadership: The Dangers of Alienating Black Men from Senior Leadership in Urban Public Schools, continue to elevate critical discussions about race, education, and leadership.

A union leader and community advocate, Norman has held numerous positions, including serving as Secretary of the Camden County East NAACP and a member of the Cherry Hill Democrat Committee. His expertise in negotiating, policy advocacy, and leadership development has made him a sought-after voice on issues of educational leadership, social justice, and community empowerment.

Norman is also a dedicated father of three, and his commitment to education extends to his personal life, where he strives to instill in his children the values of resilience, curiosity, and compassion. His faith in Yeshua (Jesus) and his dedication to community service guide his leadership philosophy and his ongoing work to build stronger, more inclusive educational systems.
