About the Author

Joey O’Connor is an award-winning author and screenwriter of twenty-three books and screenplays. He is the founder of The Grove Center for the Arts & Media, a Southern California non-profit arts organization, and the co-founder of the new Congo Reform Association. Joey lives in San Clemente, California.

Whatever words I could write here, would not do this wonderful book justice. I used this book during my morning devotional time. It is a thought-provoking, easy-to-read book that helps the reader see themselves as God sees them. The words are encouraging and deep, giving the reader the opportunity to explore the difference between how they may see/think of themselves compared to God's view of the same. I look forward to reading more by this author.

I loved this book for so many reasons. Joey O'Connor masterfully goes through the many ways we can get "stuck" and how to move past what holds us back from accepting the heavenly love from the Father, our greatest longing. As a creative artist it was so helpful for me to read and replace negative, unhelpful thoughts that stunt creativity with truthful helpful ones.This book is a must read!

The Longing is such a well-written re-telling of the Gospel message in light of our needs for belonging, purpose, and acceptance. Joey uses a good mix of quotes, scripture, and modern day banter/language in his storytelling. He makes the scripture/Bible truths/ principals palatable for our culture through appropriate use of his own life examples.
