About the Author

Brian Krabak MD, MBA, FACSM is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Departments of Rehabilitation, Orthopedics, and Sports Medicine at University of Washington and Seattle Children’s Hospital with expertise in the field of sports medicine. Krabak has extensive Sports Medicine experience at high-profile events such as 2010 Vancouver Olympics, 2004 Athens Olympics, and 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics, and has served as medical director for the Seattle Rock N’ Roll Marathon, the Boston Marathon, and a dozen other events. He lives in Seattle, WA.

Grant Lipman, FACEP, FAWM is a Clinical Associate Professor of surgery in the Division of Emergency Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine. He is the author of The Wilderness First Aid Book, as well as dozens of scholarly articles and book chapters. Lipman was awarded the Wilderness Medical Society’s 2013 Research Award, and has served as president of the American College of Emergency Physicians. He lives in Redwood City, CA.
