The Little Nell Poems vol. 1

The premise is quite simple; cute and adorable, cartoon girl with wide eyes and pigtails performs an amazingly foolish act and quickly dies.
....all in four lines of humorous rhyme.
....over and over again.

The poems combine the age old gallows humor of "I Knew An Old Woman Who Swallowed A Fly" with a modern day Edward Gorey-bites-Dr. Seuss tone.

About the Author

Craig Gilbert was born and raised in New Haven, Connecticut where he has remained, relatively unscathed, for his entire life.

Writing and drawing from the moment he was delivered (a birthday easily remembered seeing as it was Friday the 13th), as a youngin', Craig developed a fondness for Charles Addams, Ogden Nash, Edward Gorey, and basement hiding places. That slightly shadow-y, dark sense of humor can still be enjoyed in all of his "childrens" poems.

Besides writing the Little Nell Poems and the many categories of off-beat, weird-kid-lit, Craig can be found having fun with just about anything he's doing...primarily that involves making the 10 year-old that lives in all of us, crack up laughing.
