Fans of Abrev’s White Magic series will appreciate another impressive arrangement of her powerful ritualistic magic to attract love and more. This collection of fun and easy-to-perform spells, such as “Spells for Self-Love” and “Spells to Mend a Broken Heart,” are sure to delight white magic enthusiasts in search of a better life. The book need not be read from cover to cover, but instead can be used as a quick go-to guide. Half of the book is devoted to spells for love and self-protection, the how-to process, materials needed, and the best time to practice. The remainder of the book delves into the magical properties of such tools as candles, crystals, oils, and baths and how they are used to activate spells for any and all occasions, such as finding employment or conquering insomnia. Though the items needed to stage these spiritual practices are specific and numerous, and not likely to already be in one’s home, they can all be easily purchased. Abrev’s latest book is a clever consolidation of much of her previous material. For readers wishing to experiment with white magic, this book of mini recipes is a great starting point. (Jan.)
