The Lie We Were Told
Life was a breeze for Eliska Rush, with two loving adoptive parents and no memories of her storied past; things came easily for her. As one of the prettiest girls in school, she had practically every girl jealous of her, and the attention of any and every guy she passed. Things were good, until the day her memories came trickling back into her consciousness little by little. After that, reality smacked her square in the face. Suddenly life wasn't so easy anymore, and as her mind went, so did her admirers.
She had always known the truth about her past, but she had never possessed the pieces for herself. She had once mourned for the mother she had forgotten, but now she remembered her. She feared the father whose face was now all she could see. And she mourned the girl she used to be and now could never be again.

The story of tragedy and of how it can shape us, and of triumph over past scars that would otherwise destroy us.
The story of a family and of how they pull through and change together during one of their most trying times in life both as individuals and as a family.
A story of God's grace and of His ever present workings in our day to day lives.

About the Author

Kaitlin Olachea started writing out her stories as soon as she learned her letters. At the age of seven she would scribble out her tales in her little notepad, then later that night she would read them aloud to her younger sister.

Under the stairs of the old house where she grew up, there are stories still there today that she wrote on the walls as a child.

At the age of twenty she wrote War of Traitors, her first official book. A story that had never left her mind since she was only thirteen. And now with The Lie We Were Told we see yet another side of her pen.

Throughout her life as a young adult she worked in the food industry, then as a professional nanny in the city, and later she spent some time as a personal trainer. Soon all of that had passed and she found herself married with children. Throughout all of that one thing has remained consistent since the time when she first learned to hold a pen in her hand: she writes. Whether it be on walls, paper, or print, she writes.
