The Legacy of Populism: Disillusionment, Billionaires in Politics, and Insurrectionists:
This book offers four pieces of research that I conducted in the years which are now widely known as the years of populism (2015-2020), namely the period in which the second Brexit referendum was held, and Donald Trump was elected the 45th President of the United States. It's a period in which you can see the zenith of populism in the XXI century and that's why this book naturally begins with an illustration of how European politics was shaken up by the successful emergence of populist parties, and ends with a chapter on the Capitol Hill riot of the 6 January 2021, when thousands of insurrectionists assaulted the U.S. Congress because they did not recognize the result of the election in which the incumbent US populist President was defeated.
