About the Author

When I started out with my book, The Learning Code, what guided me through the process was my experience as a language trainer and a freelance educator. I’ve been teaching languages now for over 20 years both in Italy and abroad. I have a degree in foreign languages and literatures and apart from Italian, I’m also fluent in English, Spanish and French.
My research and deep seated interest in developing strategies to accelerate and highly enhance the learning process began when I served as a headmaster of a bilingual elementary school. I’ve also taught Italian in Sicily at the US Naval Station at Sigonella. Since then, I’ve continued as a language skills expert and I currently run a language school in Italy.

Maria Grazia De Francisci: To co-author the book, The Learning Code, I greatly relied on my twenty-year experience as an educational psychologist and as a relationship expert, focusing on families, couples and parenting. I’ve conducted extensive seminars and workshops for teachers, trainers and employees in schools and other educational institutions. My area of expertise covers psychology, sociology, education and communication. In the course of my career, I’ve also developed successful teaching methodologies and structured instruction modules for children with specific learning disorders and schooling difficulties. I’ve also enjoyed my tenure on the board of a non-profit local organization that strives towards tolerance, wellness, child protection and anti-bullying.
