Overview

A Will is a strange topic of conversation. Nobody really wants to think about it, yet everyone knows they should have one. This book is going to help you to understand some of the myths and mysteries surrounding the subject, in plain English, so that you can have a clear idea of what you should think about when you give instructions for your Will, or when assessing the adequate provision of your existing arrangements. Of course, living away from your home country brings its own set of topics that will not be relevant to your friends and family at home, and that is where this book can help. The appointment of a temporary Guardian for your children, for instance, and the wisdom, or not, of making that Guardian a domestic helper who may well have known them from birth.

About the Author

Janet Cribb pioneered the concept of Professional Willwriting in Hong Kong, and indeed the whole of South East Asia, as a new and challenging legal service to the mixed community of expat and local clients.

Janet wrote her first Will in the UK in 1993. She was a member of the Institute of Professional Willwriters.

Her approach to the rather daunting task of Will Writing is to help her clients stay relaxed throughout, and therefore better able to make decisions that will have long term consequences for their families, with a clear head and without feeling pressurised.

Janet’s sympathetic approach, patience and flexibility, helps clients through the process to completion, and has revolutionised the writing of a Will.

Bradley Erasmus runs eight companies and his current interests include advising his clients, now spread throughout the world, how best to protect their wealth and ensure that it passes from generation to generation without drifting into the wrong hands.

For three consecutive years, he qualified as a “Top of the Table” member of the Million Dollar Round Table, the most respected global professional body in the financial services sector.

Bradley was selected as an American Field Service student during his high school years, spending a year studying in the USA, before graduating with a Bachelor of Accounting Science degree from the University of South Africa. Years later, he read for his Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Western Ontario’s Richard Ivey School of Business, where he was elected Class Valedictorian.
