CHAPTER 1

In a time long past, in a land called Britonia, there lived a brave knight named Sir Duncan.

All his life, Sir Duncan wanted to become the greatest knight that Britonia would ever know. He trained hard and passed all his tests: fighting with swords and in armor.

He was good at riding a horse and winning a joust.

The Laughing Kingdom There was one more thing he had to do become the greatest knight ever — slay a dragon!

But where in Britonia will I find a dragon to slay? he wondered.

And so he asked the royal wizard where he should look for a dragon. "Look to the mountain. Look to the hill. There lives a dragon for you to kill," said the royal wizard, laughing out loud with a mocking sneer.

And before the brave knight left, the royal wizard added, "Have you had breakfast? Have you had brunch? You should eat your last meal before delivering the dragon his lunch!"

The brave knight paid the royal wizard no attention as he left. "I'll ask someone else to see what they say. Perhaps I will find a dragon before the end of this day," said the brave knight as he made his way to the royal kitchen to speak with the royal chef.
