Overview

The Last Gargoyle is a short story that is long on meaning. Difficult issues, that some shy away from, are confronted in this story. Alcoholism leads to poor decisions and nobody seems to know what to do about it. Nobody, that is, until one man steps forward to put an end to the heartbreak. The author is a former police officer who has been the recipient of numerous awards.

So is my writing depressing? I suppose. Why say you? Because sometimes, just sometimes, you have to pull weeds to find blossoms. You are taken on a savage journey through the underbelly of depravity encountering nothing but one helluva ending in my stories. The human experience with all its blusterous—dollar-based ethics—is confronted, while shade is tossed on everything impersonating kindness. Something is accomplished when the last page is turned. Gut wrenching but necessary.
