Overview

Part Two Of Two Parts

Mr. Crawley, curate of Hogglestock, falsely accused of theft, suffers bitterly from the fallout. But Crawley is a magnet for bad luck. Gloomy, brooding and proud, moving inexorably from one humiliation to another, he lives his tragedy in this last installment of the Barsetshire novels.

Trollope depicts the comfortable and complacent life of deaneries and vicarages with an unerring eye for detail, the whole shot through with masterful comic satire.

The Barsetshire Chronicles include THE WARDEN, BARCHESTER TOWERS, DR. THORNE, FRAMLEY PARSONAGE, THE SMALL HOUSE AT ALLINGTON and THE LAST CHRONICLE OF BARSET.
