Overview

If you're standing near a delicious beautifully decorated cake larger than your house, and you wonder how many layers it has, what do you do? Why, jump in from above, of course, and count the layers as you fall through.
* *
"Falling through the cake's immensity, through layer after layer, down, down, down, down, easliy floating through sections of icing and then of cake, one after another, Meri counted the layers as she passed: "33-34-35-36...." And finally, approaching the round base, she fell right into the Tackling Dummy's arms.
* *
They travel on the monkeybars again, through the dramatic Land of Lost N Lightning. Meri is sad to leave this unique form of transportation behind when they reach The Land of The Yellow Trampoline and need to bounce across. The Land of Pink Windmills is just on the other side, although it can't be seen yet because of a forest in the way just one tree thick. But first, Wut has a surprise. It's not small!

About the Author

Larry Good liked sentences so he majored in English at the University of Virginia. As a young English teacher for six years, he learned even more about sentences. He's been writing them ever since. He wonders how many there are in "The Land of Walking Through Cake," and all six books of this Series which is called "Across The Mistercald."
He has four fantastic children, 2 girls and 2 boys. The youngest is Meri, who went to The Lands, as described in this and the other five books. She told him about her adventures and all the unforgettable characters she met, and he put them into sentences, which can take anyone to The Land of Walking Through Cake and other lands. If you meet Picups, look at yourself. Everyone's hair is always the same color as his.
Speaking of sentences, notice that one of the characters is a caring question mark. Another loves unabridged dictionaries, and whole sentences come automatically into his mind.
