Abraham “Bram” Stoker is recognized as one of the most prominent authors of horror fiction. Born near Dublin, Ireland on November 8, 1847, he was an accomplished author, biographer, theatre critic, theatre manager, athlete, and journalist. Additionally, he served as personal assistant to actor Henry Irving and business manager of the Lyceum Theatre. Stoker died under mysterious circumstances on April 20, 1912. He is best known for his Gothic masterpiece Dracula (1897).
