The Journey
The Journey is a story of a man whose life appears to be on autopilot after suffering an unimaginable loss. Despite the best efforts of friend and Family, Tim is a prisoner of his own grief. His world is turned upside down when he meets a young boy named Sam who has been searching for his missing mother. Set in the picturesque Lakes Region of New Hampshire, the two of them, united in tragedy, find healing in their search for family.

From a fan: "As someone who has loved books since I learned to read as a kid, I wholeheartedly recommend this book. I have read countless books in my life, and one of the ways I judge a book is if it has me immersed right away. I always have a book with me on my long commute, and I read daily. However, since the beginning of the pandemic, I found it more and more difficult to sit and read a book. In my free time, I started watching a lot more TV, since it was easier to escape from reality into a fictional TV world, and I just couldn't seem to find a book that would hold my interest. I picked up a copy of The Journey by Bob Collins. Right from the Prologue I was hooked. This is a beautifully written story about loss, love, family, and being open to where life's journey can take you if you have an open mind and an open heart. It was hard for me to put the book down, because I wanted to know what happened next. I found myself slowing down a little at the end to savor the story, because I felt such a connection to the characters and I didn't want it to be over. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will recommend it friends, and to anyone who enjoys stories of what it truly means to be a family.

About the Author

As Winston Churchill said, “Never give up on something that you can’t go a day without thinking about.” This belief has led Bob to put his hand to more than a couple of careers in his life, including teaching Middle School Social Studies for the past fourteen years. It also led to a career in youth ministry where he was able to travel around the world with High School youth doing service missions. His experience as a train conductor helped develop a love for railroads, something that is featured in this work. Over the years Bob has earned advanced degrees in Religion and education. But his most important role in life is being a dad. His son's kind heart comes out in Sam's character. Bob has been married to his childhood sweetheart for the past 19 years, and he is eternally grateful for all of her love and support.
