About the Author

Louis A. Dezelan has had multiple articles published on a variety of topics. He is a graduate of Indiana University and Harvard University's Program for Senior Executives in State and Local Governments. He has traveled to more than 30 countries and has lived abroad; specifically in South Africa. He is an accomplished photographer and bird watcher and has identified more than 21% of the bird species in the world. He has spent his entire career as a public servant, ultimately serving as the Fire Chief for the City of Indianapolis, retiring, and then resuming another career in public safety as a colonel in the Marion County Sheriff's Office in Indianapolis.
Dezelan has made hundreds of public appearances through speeches, radio, and television. He lives with his wife, Susie, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
