Overview

From the New York Times bestselling author of 'The Seven Sisters' series:
Nothing sings as sweetly as love, or burns quite like betrayal. Rosanna Menici is just a girl when she meets Roberto Rossini, the man who will change her life. In the years to come, their destinies are bound together by their extraordinary talents as opera singers and by their enduring but obsessive love for each other – a love that will ultimately affect the lives of all those closest to them. For, as Rosanna slowly discovers, their unison is haunted by irreversible events from the past...
Rosanna's journey takes her from humble beginnings in the back streets of Naples to the glittering stages of the world's most prestigious opera houses. Set against a memorable backdrop of Lucinda Riley's trademark evocative locations, The Italian Girl unfolds into a poignant and unforgettable tale of love, betrayal and self-discovery.
*First published as Aria under the name Lucinda Edmonds, now extensively rewritten*

Her novels have been translated into thirty-four languages and sold over eight million copies worldwide. She is a New York Times and Sunday Times bestselling author.

Lucinda’s novels include The Seven Sisters, a seven-book series telling the story of adopted sisters and based allegorically on the mythology of the famous star constellation. Book 1, The Seven Sisters, and Book 2, The Storm Sister, have been No.1 bestsellers in Europe, and the rights to a multi-season TV series have already been optioned by a Hollywood production company. A new, contemporary novel The Olive Tree (also called Helena’s Secret) has been published in 2016, set during one long hot summer in Cyprus, and based on a family holiday she took. Lucinda and her son Harry have personally narrated the audio book together.

She is also rewriting and releasing a number of books originally published when writing under her maiden name of Lucinda Edmonds, including The Italian Girl, The Angel Tree and in 2017, The Love Letter.

Lucinda lives with her husband and four children on the North Norfolk coast in England and West Cork, Ireland.

When not writing, travelling or running around after her children, she loves reading books that she hasn’t written with a glass or two of Provençal rosé!
