Ruji Chapnik was born in San Francisco, California in 1985. She wrote The Isolated Clay in 2007, when she was twenty-two. She has also published several magazine articles and comics. Her first full-length comic collection, Don Depresso, Volume I, is also available from Depresso Publishing.
