About the Author

Lewisteen Andrews is an American author who lives in Columbus, Ohio. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was reared in Flint, Michigan. The author of Oh My Stars, The Child That Was Left Behind and this book, The Invitation, has always had a passion for children.

Lewisteen worked at Charles S. Mott Children’s Health Center of Flint for ten years, a place where she greeted children and their families daily. It’s the same clinic where doctors treated her for Scoliosis as a child when she wore braces to straighten her spine. Lewisteen also worked briefly as a substitute teacher in Flint Public Schools and tutored children at Mott Farm. She has also served as a community volunteer at Hurley Medical Center where she worked in Labor and Delivery to care for newborns and their mothers.

Lewisteen earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Davenport University in Flint, Michigan. Later, she founded and operated Simply the Best and Finest, a cleaning and organizing company. Her first book, The Extraordinary Life of Lewisteen Andrews, was published in 2017.

Lewisteen has three adult sons, three grandchildren and seven nieces and nephews. The middle sister of a family of seven girls, she’s always had to use her ingenuity to learn from life experiences, overcome disappointments and be a leader for positive change.
