About the Author

Tristan MacAvery has been making things up since he was a kid. In later years, he discovered that the term “improvisation” was more acceptable, and he decided to become both a player and a coach in the genre. He spent several years as an amateur before joining up with Third Coast Comedy, Houston’s premier improvisation troupe, led by Dave Howell-DePew. Now residing on the south side of Richmond, Virginia, Tristan is afflicting… (ahem) gracing the area with his own classes, corporate training, and performances for audiences throughout the state.

Bringing his talents as a writer to bear, Tristan has created a playbook (after all, who wants to work when he can play?) designed to be a guide for people wanting to explore improvisation as a tool for life. The book has received endorsements from actors, directors and fellow improvists such as René Auberjonois, Dean Haglund, Russell Johnson, Adam West and William Windom. He has also published several novels and a collection of shorter works; samples of his work can be found on his website, www.intangibleplastics.com, as well as here at AuthorHouse.
