Overview

Sixty-year-old Soviet Scientist Lyudmila Alekseyeva, while working on a drug to speed healing, discovers the Fountain of Youth in 1978. Longing to return to the beautiful, healthy, and vivacious woman she had been, she steals the drug from her lab and transforms into a gorgeous, irreverent co-ed of twenty.

The Politburo wants her formula so they can stay in power forever, and they want her dead. She makes her way to America and goes into seclusion at the base of the Rocky Mountains. Fifty-seven years later, in 2035, at one-hundred-seventeen years in age, but still biologically twenty, her husband tragically dies, and she comes out of hiding to find a world steeped in chaos by a solar flare.

The Russian oligarchs, as immortal as she, have not given up the chase. With well over a century of experience to draw from, she must help her rural community survive while living in mortal fear the FSB will find her and her family.

About the Author

Monica grew up in a small town in eastern Washington State. At the age of nine, she moved with her parents from a four-generation house to the boiler room of the family's commercial greenhouse. Was she deprived? Heck no, it was an adventure! When there was snow on the ground outside, she ran around barefoot in the greenhouse, making herself useful on weekends. Pestering her grandfather for plant lore while helping him pot tomatoes was a wonderful way to grow up!She married her high-school sweetheart, and they went off to college. Four children later, they both had masters degrees in the sciences to go along with their mutual addiction to science fiction. One winter, she offered to help one of her favorite Sci-Fi authors by proofreading his book. He didn't want a proofreader, but a ghost writer suited him just fine. The success of that book convinced her that she really could write.
