Reapers Fred (an emperor and king) and his son the necromancer are back friends, the best and worst of friends they must not fight, or the world will fall into anarchy Fred is the king of the Earth, and the Emperor of the Universe, they are at an official meeting, they must appear to be the best of friends as ambassadors of the magicians visiting the US president Hyde after his bad debate with Jack King and the world will be watching them all closely.

Lance jokes about Hyde being a barely-there corpse like Fred.

Fred glares at his son.

Can Fred and Lance behave long enough not to betray the secret they're hiding that Fred is a fraud, he is Lance the Necromancer's father the deposed emperor of the solar system who is a semi-dead man which was why he was deposed and why he cannot be emperor or king of anything.

With them goes Angela, Lance's stepmother. Fred's 2nd wife who was his reincarnated first wife now a Fate. Making things more complicated, they are still very much in love. But only Lance knows they were married. They're trying to hide their relationship.
