About the Author

Juliet Harbutt first discovered her passion for cheese on a visitto Paris in 1983. This led to the opening of Jeroboams, her wineand cheese shop in London, followed by the creation of theBritish Cheese Awards in 1994 and subsequently the GreatBritish Cheese Festival in 2000. A Chevalier de Tastefromage,she has recently received the Good Housekeeping Food HeroAward and has worked with Blur bass guitarist Alex James tocreate a range of cheese under the Evenlode Partnership.
Kate Whiteman was a highly respected food writer and editor for over thirty years. She translated and edited numerous books for such eminent chefs as the Roux Brothers, Raymond Blanc and Pierre Koffman, and was herself the author of many books, including Microwave Fish Cooking, Brittany Gastronomique and The A-Z of Italian Ingredients.
