Overview

When thirteen-year-old Anara Philips walks to Roy Brown's shed in the woods to pick up her death date, she doesn't expect to encounter her classmates—Austin, Denis, and Mindy. They all possess death dates. Her grandfather, Jim, does too. Under the control of The Three Sisters, illusionists must live in fear knowing their life is bound inside a ticking clock.
As the death dates of her loved ones tick closer, Anara, at sixteen, begins to realize she is running out of time. She must find a way to save, not only those she loves, but illusionists all over the world, all while grappling with the challenges of being a teenager.
A story of family, friendship, bravery, and a love triangle, The Illusionists is a dark fantasy that begins in book one of this series.

About the Author

Writing young adult fiction seemed to happen serendipitously for me. Keeping journals and daily diaries began as a way of documenting my life for enjoyment, until I later realized there could be something more. Writing suddenly became personal, at the same time therapeutic; it allowed me to purge about both failed and successful relationships I'd endured all my life. Those relationships built what has now become The Illusionists. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, I've been lucky to discover that inspiration to write can be found at my local café, in my bedroom until 4 a.m. or even through my favorite instrumental—Sound of an Angel. There is no telling where this first project will take you, though I hope it reminds you there are new beginnings waiting after every ending.
