Priye S. Torulagha is involved in various research activities dealing with African cultures, comparative politics, international terrorism, and democratic governance. Foremost among his research interests are Third World cultures and politics. In this regard, he has written copiously on Ijaw political affairs, which has allowed him to maintain a connection with the Ijaw culture. He believes that it is most appropriate to study and write about any culture based on the dynamics of the culture being studied, rather than rely unduly on scholarly models developed through the dynamics of other cultures.
