About the Author

Jack Sprouse is from Dallas, Texas, although he now lives in Lewisville, a few miles north of Dallas. He studied American History at Texas Tech, in Lubbock, and his fields of greatest historical interest are the American Civil War and World War II. He served in the United States Navy as a crewmember on an ASW (anti-submarine-warfare) patrol aircraft. Writing fiction is his passion.

Sprouse just loves making stuff up (his mom used to punish him for doing that when he was a kid). He has written two books of historical fiction (Adventures in Time Book I: The American Civil War and Adventures in Time Book II: The American West—these are both Walter Mitty type stories in which he places himself back in time as a war correspondent following historical events and interviewing the major players in those events; two books of original poetry, The Quiet Place and Dreams of a Forgotten Man—both books contain approximately fifty original poems on various subjects: Life, love, friendship, relationships, war, conflict, tragedy; and several novels: The House Wren, a saga of a fictional Texas family; On Neptune’s Wings, a love story set in the 1960s against the backdrop of a US Navy Patrol Squadron; Magnolia Road, an improbable love story between a girl from Vermont and a rancher from Colorado. She is purposeful and dedicated to her chosen calling in life; and Clare, about a twenty-four-year-old woman who faces life with quiet confidence and inner turmoil; experiencing love, hurt, uncertainty, sexual harassment in the workplace, and tragedy. He is currently working on several ideas for new books.
