About the Author

Philippe Thirault is a French novelist and comics writer who was born in Paris in 1967. In the late 1990s, he published the novel Feathered Serpent, the trilogy Hemoglobin Blues, and his first comic series, the critically acclaimed Miss: Better Living Through Crime. He has since become a very prolific comic book creator, writing series such as Thousand Faces, The Hounds of Hell, Balkans Arena and Mandalay. He often writes stories with a historical or fantastic setting and runs writing workshops in Paris.
Born in 1971, Christian Hojgaard is a Danish illustrator and comic book artist, who has worked for several international publishers in varying styles and genres. His comic debut was publishing a cartoon at the age of sixteen for the magazine Pulp Pages. He illustrated textbooks and stories published by the Danish publisher Gyldendal, Alinea, Alrune and Sesam. For DC/Vertigo, he was an artist on The Dreaming in 1998, written by Caitlin R. Kiernan. In 2000, he drew a short story for magazine Metal Hurlant which led him to collaborate with Humanoids, including illustrating the first two books in the series The Hounds of Hell, written by Philippe Thirault, and a short story for Alejandro Jodorowsky’s Screaming Planet anthology.
Drazen Kovacevic was born in Croatia and studied in Belgrade. He teamed up with writer Goran Skrobonja and together they won a comics competition organized by the French publishing house Glénat. This resulted in the La Roue series, an adaptation of Skrobonja's 1987 novel. He also worked on Philippe Thirault's series La Meute de l'Enfer.
Roman Surzhenko is a Russian comic artist, who was born in 1972. He graduated from the Taganrog State University Ofof Radio Engineering (TSURE) in 1994 and began his career working for publishing houses. In 2001 he created his first comic, called Magnificent Adventures, and has worked for the publishing house Advance-Press in Moscow since 2003. His Flight from Earth was also published in The Mammoth book of Zombie Comics by David Kendall. He created storyboards for movies like Revenge of the King, Prisoners of 3 Planets and Possibility of Vacation. In 2009 he succeeded Christian Hojgaard and Drazen Kovacevic as the artist for The Hounds of Hell, which was followed by Metal Vol.3 in 2010. He and writer Yann are responsible for the Les Mondes de Thorgal installments about Louve. In 2015 he also succeeded Giulio De Vita as the artist of the Kriss de Valnor.
