Overview

An Italian gothic horror thriller set in Victorian England of 1885. The story centers on Dr. Bernard Hichcock, a brilliant surgeon who also happens to be a necrophiliac. The horrible secret of the title involves the drugging his wife for sexual funeral games. One day he accidentally administers an overdose and kills her. Several years later he remarries, with the intention of using the blood of his new bride to reanimate his first wife's rotting corpse back to life. Shudders galore.

About the Author

From the snow white beaches of Clearwater, Florida, Michael R. Hudson whiles away his days with hard physical exercise, translating Italian authors and writing his own books. He spends his evenings writing, watching old films, and listening to live music, most notably that of his singer/songwriter fiancée.

His novels include My Name Is Nobody, The Case of the Bloody Iris, and The Horrible Dr. Hichcock based on the film screenplays of famed Italian screenwriter, Ernesto Gastaldi. Hudson has translated and adapted Paolo Di Orazio's My Small Crimes and is currently translating Claudio Vergnani's Ironically Death.

Hudson is the man behind Sequential Pulp Comics, a specialty imprint of Dark Horse Comics known for such books as The Halloween Legion, Martians, Go Home, Athena Voltaire, Jungle Tales of Tarzan, and At The Earth's Core. He also manages a boutique prose imprint, Raven's Head Press, that specializes in bringing Italian authors to the English-speaking market along with new editions of long out-of-print genre novels of pulp, noir, horror, thriller, and adventure.
