About the Author

When Shannon was thirteen years old, her father began teaching her how to manage money, which then grew into a passion for her. Thanks to her father’s lessons and encouragement, Shannon became a Certified Financial Advisor and has worked with individuals, families, and small businesses to help them be financially prepared. Over the past 20 years, she’s learned that how you think about money is the key to financial success.

With this in mind, she started working with her daughters at a very young age to help them build a positive relationship with money. Inspired by real events, Shannon wrote The Heavy Purse with her daughters as they wanted to help teach other children that managing money can be as easy as save, spend and share.

Shannon and her husband, Chris, reside in Manhattan Beach, California with their daughters, Lauren and Taylor.
