He lectures regularly on wilderness and conservation issues and has had hundreds of radio and television appearances. He is the author of more than a dozen books, including Hawks Rest, Decade of the Wolf (with Douglas Smith), and Shouting at the Sky. He lives in Red Lodge, Montana.
