Overview

What are the driving forces in a missional church to mount and sustain a robust mission program? A passion for Christ, identifying with those who have lost their way and being convicted that the proclamation of the Word of God leads the lost to a relationship with Christ and holiness in life have been the driving forces of missions across the centuries in every land. When the good news of the person and Message of Christ is carried by mission minded spokesmen in every land churches are planted and grow and the Gospel continues to spread in widening circles.
The reader will find twenty-four articles devoted to the basis of missions, to the contents of the message, to some methods to be considered, to some illustrations of mission work and the end results of a biblically centered mission enterprise. Overwhelmingly, the articles have their value in being focused on the person and Message of Christ in fulfilling the eternal purpose of God.

About the Author

Gerald Paden was educated at Abilene Christian University and subsequently served as a missionary in Italy with wife Bobbie for 18 years. He continues to have a great interest in the evangelization of that country.

For a number of years he taught The Levitical Sacrificial System, Hebrews, The Epistles of John, and Church Growth in the Sunset International Bible Institute. Though now retired he continues to work with the Missions Department at Sunset, is instrumental in motivating families to go the mission field, and devotes time to writing.
